When all images for a study have been transmitted, the study (or examination, or briefly, 'exam') is called 'complete'. The information that is collected for each study consists of a flag that indicated whether or not the exam is complete, an accession number, a patient ID as well as the patient's name, and an unique identifier for the study (UID).

When the value of this field is not present, or when it is present and equal to 0, the record is incomplete. When the value of this field is equal to 1, the record is complete.
1	acnumb	A_ACNUMB;1	FREE TEXT			The value of this field is the accession number for the study that is referenced in this entry.
2	pid	A_PID;1	FREE TEXT			The value of this field is the value that is transmitted for DICOM element 0010,0020. Typically, the value of this field is equal to the Social Security Number of the patient for whom the study is scheduled. (Without the dashes between the number-groups.)
3	pname	A_PNAME;1	FREE TEXT			The value of this field is equal to the name of the patient for whom the study in question is performed. This value is copied from ^DPT so that the VistA DICOM Gateway will need to be able to access this value whether or not the network link with the VistA system (DDP) is available.
4	study uid	A_STUDYUID;1	FREE TEXT			The value of this field is a code that identifies the study that is referenced in this entry. This unique identifier is the DICOM UID for the Study SOP Instance.
