This file contains the categories and procedures associated with DSS units in the Event Capture software. All entries in this file are procedures. If flagged using the CATEGORY (Y/N) field (2) these entries will be recognized as categories and procedures. Entries in this file are locally entered and edited. A synonym field is provided for local use in identifying these entries within various hospital departments. **NOTE** This file is being exported with Event Capture Version 2.0 for use in converting existing data, at the pilot sites, to current data formats. This file will be removed in a future release of the Event Capture software. ** Per patch EC*2*5, this file has been starred for deletion. **

1	national number(+)	0;2	FREE TEXT			This field contains the national number assigned to each procedure. If this procedure represents a CPT code, enter the appropriate CPT code.
2	category (y/n)	0;3	BOOLEAN	1:YES 0:NO		Enter "YES" or "1" if this procedure name should be displayed when accessing categories. Procedures that do not have "1" entered for this field will not appear when "looking up" categories. All categories must have "1" entered to be recognized by the software.
3	synonym	0;4	FREE TEXT		C	This field contains the locally defined name for this category or procedure.
4	number of procedures	0;5	NUMERIC			This field tracks the volume of this procedure.
5	variable pointer	V;1	VARIABLE-POINTER	81, 725		The variable pointer created from the NATIONAL NUMBER field (1) will be used in the data conversion process for Event Capture Version 2.0.
