The data are sent to the Radiology development and maintenance teams as an Excel spreadsheet. Updates to the data are sent as a comprehensive spreadsheet, so all entries in this file must be deleted before loading the new comprehensive spreadsheet into this file. This file provides data for certain CPT Codes. One of the data items is PROCEDURE TYPE. The PROCEDURE TYPE is similar to the Type of Imaging in the IMAGING TYPE file (#79.2), and is needed from this file to compare PROCEDURE TYPES nationally for performance monitors and performance measures, because not all sites are assigning the same Type of Imaging to the same CPT Code via the RAD/NUC MED PROCEDURES file (#71).

5	descriptor	1;1	FREE TEXT			This is the long description of the CPT Code, which may be slightly different from the description for the same CPT Code in the CPT file (#81).
6	cms work rvu	0;6	NUMERIC			This is the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' published values for Work Relative Value Unit for the procedure with this CPT Code.
7	va gap wrvu	0;7	NUMERIC			RVU value created for VA use for codes that have no RVU value because they are designed as carrier defined by Medicare.
8	bi-rads procedure	0;8	BOOLEAN	Y:Yes		This conttains a "Yes" if this CPT Code is a BI-RADS procedure; otherwise nothing (null).
