Per VHA Directive 2005-044, this file has been "locked down" by Data Standardization (DS). The file definition (i.e. data dictionary) shall not be modified. All additions, changes and deletions to entries in the file shall be done by Enterprise Reference Terminology (ERT) using the Master File Server (MFS), provided by Common Services (CS). Creating and/or editing locally defined fields in the file are not permitted. Use of locally defined fields that were created prior to the VHA Directive's 2005-044 effective date shall not be supported.

.02	alternate expression	0;2	FREE TEXT		C	This is an alternate expression for the Setting. NOTE: These terms are for the initial mapping process only. The mapping process is a one time exercise until all existing active titles are mapped to a standard title. This field will NOT be used to deploy data thru MFS. This field will not be updated after the initial installation. The alternate expression does not have to be stored in VISTA separately from the standard title. It will be stored in the terminology server. The look up and search does not use the alternate expression term. We will keep this data in the terminology server.

99.99	vuid(+)	VUID;1	FREE TEXT		AVUID	VHA Unique ID (VUID). A unique meaningless integer assigned to reference terms VHA wide.
99.991	effective date/time	TERMSTATUS;0	MULTIPLE	8926.499		Describes the pair Status and Effective Date/Time for each reference term.
